Disclaimer: I was riding at walking pace with my kids and came to a safe complete stop when interacting with the game. It does make getting from Pokestop to Pokestop very many much more easier, rather than having to park the car, and get out and walk to the ones that are slightly OFF ROAD.

Plus, you get to see cooler shit when you’re not in the car:

So go get an old phone holder, some zip ties, and prepare for getting a sore butt on your inadequately padded bike seat as you hunt for Pokemon!

They just need to add a trainer battling method that functions like the old Wilderness did in Runescape. You get to fight anybody you want and steal all their shit when you win. I really want to see a battling system where you can wager your high level pokemon on a fight.

What are the phone requirements for PokemonGo. A colleague asked me to find out and find a phone for less than Ł100 ($130).

A couple of sites said the phone needed to have Android 4.4 or above and 2Gb RAM, or is this what is required for the best experience?

My colleague’s daughter is only 10, so doesn’t want to spend too much.

No clue. I have the cheapest thing Verizon had after I dunked my last phone in the washing machine. It runs the game, but does not have a gyroscope, so the AR mode (where you can “see” pokemon in the real world and take a pic) doesn’t work.

The hard part for us this weekend was finding a gym where my son could get some experience. Most of the lowest level pokemon in the gyms were higher than his highest-level pokemon. We found one, but ten minutes later, a minivan pulled up and the gym switched hands.

I’m working to locate gyms where you have to get out of the car and walk to reach them. Those are the only ones where newbies can compete.

I’m 21, my biggest mon is 1600 and I’m finding mons in the 700s and “I’m like why bother?” they just waste balls that I could be using on some 10cp pidgeys.

Managed to find her a phone. A Huawei P8 Lite, Android 5.0.2 and 2Gb RAM for the money but she’s ‘umming and arghing’ about whether to bite the bullet.

The next phone was Ł250 ($330) for similar specs on Pay As You Go, which I can’t see being right.

I stopped wasting balls on stuff I already have. But there’s so much more I want. I went running around my ‘hood at 10:30 like a nut the other day because a Pikachu was “nearby”.

Never found the fucker.

My highest is a 778 Jolteon that I took to two gyms to train and was like “Meh”.

I am about to farm the pokestops at a local YMCA place. I’d go to my favorite place where I can hit six in one go, but it’s pretty hot at 96 degrees atm... Looking for places with shade haha

We live in the sticks and there isn’t anything out here, so we drove into town closer to where I work. Everything in town is accessible from the road, so there was a lot of drive-by pokemoning going on.. The fun part was letting my son navigate while I just drove.

We finally came across a collection of stops and a gym at the local arboretum. It was nice because most of the stops were out of reach from the parking lot, so you have to get out of the car and walk. We fought off mosquitoes and braved deep water in order to reach the most distant stop. My son learned that there are trees come in other species that oak and pine. Blackgum? Ironwood? What’s up with these trees, dad?

Opted to leave the YMCA and hit up my favorite place, walked for an hour and 40 minutes hitting 6 stops per round and managed to hatch two 2km eggs in the process. And leveled up to 16!

The grind for pidgeys is going to be a long one. I’ve got 746 pidgey candies, but I’m going to try to get to 1440 and evolve 120 pidgeys for 120k xp by using two phones at the same time and see if it works.

If that fails, I’ll just stick with gaining 60k xp per lucky egg. Have yet to use one and I’ve got 3 I’m just itching to use but being patient to get the most out of them.

Finding new Pokemon stinks, I’ve only gotten 61 so far.

The evolve sequences are too long you probably will max out at like 50 evolves then the 30 mins is up

If I use one phone I can perform one evolution cycle per thirty seconds, I’m sure. I’ll be collecting a surplus of Pidgeys before I crack my lucky egg to see how many I can attempt per minute and per 100 seconds.

There are folks easily doing 100k xp by killing the app in the middle of the evolve animation because it's faster.

The trick is to get a ton of low level/crap pokemon and go sit at a pokestop or two with a lure module. Then you use a lucky egg to double your EXP and evolve all of your lowbie/easy to evolve pokemon.

I’ve been doing something like that. The gap between levels has been getting huge tho. And I am too lazy/busy to sit at a stop with a lure.... that and I haven’t used a single lure, lucky egg, or even incense since I got the game.

Caught a CP 626 Hypno last night with one great ball and a razz berry. Pretty proud of that.

My daily commute to work and back has been determined by pokestops now. So I am slowly building up my stash of balls once again.
